I’m Chris Foster. In 2021 I walked across America: from Illinois down to San Diego, up the Pacific coast to Newport, Oregon, and on east from there.

I didn’t know how to camp, and I couldn’t tell people why I was going. I only knew the call was coming from within, and its ringing refused to stop.

Strangers kept me going. They handed me water and food, gave me a place to sleep, and told me their stories. My motto out there was to be a beacon, be a catalyst, and become the change.
